Abstract
A 2-D model in Roesser form is proposed for automated irrigation channels. The model reflects directed information flow in both the temporal and spatial dimensions. This is consistent with so-called distant-downstream feedback control architectures. For a corresponding class of spatially and temporally homogeneous models, new measures of performance are defined for the purpose of analysis. These relate to notions of strong practical stability and disturbance attenuation developed in the paper. LMI characterisations of these are provided. © 2012 Institute of Engineers.
